Griffin Poetry Prize Masterclass (in partnership with Arvon): Linked Poems with Ishion Hutchinson
Tue 5 May 2026 to Tue 5 May 2026
Arvon is partnering with the Griffin Poetry Prize, one of the world’s largest and most generous international poetry awards, to deliver a Masterclass with acclaimed poet Ishion Hutchinson.

In this two-hour session with poet, essayist and Cornell professor Ishion Hutchinson, winner of the 2025 Rilke Prize and shortlisted for the T.S. Eliot Prize, you will write a series of linked poems that integrate, however loosely, a vibrant and layered world pulsing with scenes, things, little stories and people’s feelings.

Everyone who books a place on this Masterclass will be automatically entered into a draw to win a complete collection of books from the 2026 Griffin Poetry Prize shortlist, kindly donated by the Griffin Poetry Prize team.

The international Griffin Poetry Prize https://griffinpoetryprize.com/ was founded in 2000 to encourage and celebrate excellence in poetry. The prize is awarded annually for a first-edition poetry collection written in, or translated into, English by a living poet and/or translator from any country. The winner of the international Griffin Poetry Prize receives C$130,000. The other shortlisted poets each receive C$10,000.
