International Bookseller Panel (Literature across Borders)
Tue 14 Jul 2026 to Tue 14 Jul 2026
A panel event discussing the international bookselling landscape for children's and YA fiction. Starting at 3pm London-time, this 90-minute Literature-across-Borders tie-in event will explore bookseller perceptions about how books in English travel across borders.
What are the trends in what is travelling across borders? How have these patterns changed over time? What is the impact of how books are publicised and marketed by publishers to booksellers? What is the position of international authors in all of this?
We are delighted to be joined by a panel of booksellers, including Vidya Mani from the Funky Rainbow bookshop in Bengaluru, India, and Edouard Gallais from Waterstones Bristol in the UK, for a chaired dialogue on bookselling in very different socio-political and socio-cultural contexts.
The event will be chaired by Dr Alexia Casale, with support from LaB co-founder Meghaa Gupta.
This event is hosted by Bath Spa University, UK, in collaboration with Literature across Borders. You can read about LaB, and watch videos of past events here.
The event will be in English and is planned to be delivered via Microsoft Teams. Closed captions are user-enabled on Teams: availability will depend on the user's joining platform.
This is a free event, but tickets are necessary as spaces are limited. We will send the joining link (and any updates to the planned programmed) the day before the event via the email address provided.
