Leith School of Art: Poetry & Sculpture Workshop: Haiku-Hoose with Brigid Collins
Sat 28 May 2022 to Sat 28 May 2022
Explore creative writing and make an experimental, mixed media book-object. This one-day creative workshop will begin with a walk along the Water of Leith, followed by a short burst of creative writing outside. We will engage with our surroundings employing simple, creative writing processes and writing haiku poems.

Back in the studio, each student will translate their writing into a three-dimensional sculptural form: a ‘Haiku-Hoose’, in which their poem can ‘live’. We will work with unfamiliar materials: wire, card, sticks, collage materials and colour, encouraging new creative processes and experimentation.

Finally, we will take our pieces back outside to the environments which inspired them, installing and then recording our artwork through photography and film.

Open to all levels! All materials supplied.

Date: 28 May 2022, 9:30am - 4:30pm
