Literature across Borders: Perspectives on the Partition of India (free)
Sat 25 Apr 2026 to Sat 25 Apr 2026
Three authors explore Partition through books first published in India, the UK, and USA. We are delighted to be joined by authors Swapna Haddow, Nayanika Mahtani and Veera Hiranandani for a chaired dialogue on writing and being published in three very different socio-political and socio-cultural contexts.
How do these factors shape approaches to telling stories about these historic events? How have these books travelled across borders? How have the authors approached writing historical fiction in terms of craft, research and engaging with the business of being published?
The event will be chaired by Meghaa Gupta, and organised by Dr Alexia Casale, co-founders of Literature across Borders.
This event is hosted by Bath Spa University, UK, in collaboration with Literature across Borders.
Date: Saturday 25 April 2026, 6:00pm
