Weekly Topics: • Free verse and sensory imagery • Old English poems and word-play • Rondines and effective rhyme • Cinquains and economy of language • Sestinas and going with the flow • Decuains and natural metre • Glosas and keeping the meaning open • Original forms and English rhythms. You’ll also get a booklet each week with 6 further forms or styles to play with and suggestions of topics for poems, growing to a 'poetry bible' collection of 56 forms with contemporary examples of each. The course includes 3 rounds of constructive peer feedback plus written feedback from the teacher on 2 poems.
Dates: Online course: Thursdays at 7pm–9:30pm, 8 February – 28 March 2024; In-person course: Wednesdays at 7pm–9:30pm, 7 February – 27 March 2024 (Book by 31 January.)
