Newcastle Writing Conference 2019 - Making Connections, Unlocking Talent
Sat 18 May 2019 to Sat 18 May 2019
New Writing North and Northumbria University have been joining forces to help writers achieve their creative ambitions since 2008. For our 2019 conference we’re bringing together some of the most inspiring people we know to help you ignite your writing career. Book by 27 April to take advantage of Early bird rate.

We know that the road to publication can be exhausting, but this is not a sit-back-and-listen conference. We’re looking to make change. The conference is aimed at everyone who has a desire to be published or to further their writing career, including those who feel they are not currently represented by the publishing industry.

Highlights include a keynote speech from writer, poet and all-round inspiration Tony Walsh; workshops with writers Paul Magrs and Carmen Marcus; editors from major publishers Penguin Random House and Hachette; literary agents including Davinia Andrews-Walsh (ANDLYN), Niki Chang (The Good Agency) and Emma Paterson (Aitken Alexander); and one-to-one sessions with experts from across the publishing industry.

Newcastle Writing Conference also celebrates the publication of Common People, an anthology of new writing by writers from working class backgrounds.

Date: Saturday 18 May 2019, 10am-5pm
Location: Live Theatre, Newcastle
Cost: Tickets start at just £25. Book by 27 April to make the most of our Early Bird rate.

Newcastle Writing Conference is intended for anyone who has a desire to be published or to further their writing career, regardless of their income or background.
