Northern Writers' Awards: Northern Poetry Showcase and Roadshow

Hosted by New Writing North, York St John University and the Poetry School. This event will celebrate some of the remarkable poets that have come through the Northern Writers’ Awards programmes and is relevant for poets at all stages of their careers.

As we launch the 2019 New North Poets programme, devised by New Writing North and the Poetry School, we’ll feature readings and discussion from the five 2017 winners, who have reached the end of their programme of development support: Michael Brown, Jasmine Chatfield, Elizabeth Gibson, Maria Isakova-Bennett and Rosa Walling-Wefelmeyer.

The event will finish with readings and discussions from three amazing guest poets who have previously won Northern Writers’ Awards: Caleb Klaces, Phoebe Power and Kit Fan.

The Northern Writers' Awards are produced by New Writing North with support from Northumbria University, Arts Council England and a range of industry partners. Theysupport work-in-progress by writers based in the North of England.
