Nottingham Writers' Studio: A Writer's Imaginarium: From One Body To Another with Sarah Hymas
Write and discuss, think and noodle around the interconnectivity of bodies, from the micro to the macro.
This 90-minute session will explore how our body can be a rich source of inspiration for writing our place in the world. Our body, with its own ecosystem, is what connects us to the wider ecosystem of other bodies, and, wider still, to the planetary body.
We will write and discuss, think and noodle around the interconnectivity of bodies, from the micro to the macro.
Suitable for all genres of writing, the focus is on expanding our sense of self, developing our imaginative muscle for how we co-exist and how best we can capture the words and their energy to convey our experience or fabrications of being in the world.
Sarah Hymas is a writer, text-based artist, facilitator and collaborator who focuses on personal, cultural and environmental ecologies. Her interest starts where she lives, Morecambe Bay, both offshore and inland. Her work appears in print, exhibitions, videos, installations, lyrics, on stage, and radio. She also makes site-specific audio walks, artist books and performative soundscapes. Increasingly she is interested in the role of collective wisdom in making anything: ocean, future, art.
