One-to-one Mentoring and Manuscript Critique service from award-winning children’s and feelgood fiction author Tamsyn Murray

Need support, encouragement and constructive advice on your writing? Help is available from an award-winning, bestselling author with sixteen years’ publishing experience. With 31 traditionally-published books across a wide range of genres and age-ranges, I can help.
Between 1st October 2026 and 31st March 2027, I’m open for one-to-one online mentoring (over a 6 or 12 week period) and full/partial manuscript critiques, with specialities in picture books/middle grade/YA fiction, and adult feelgood fiction/cosy crime.
Mentoring is aimed at encouraging you to write regularly, with weekly deadlines and feedback to get that early draft finished under your belt. You send up to 5,000 words per week across 6 or 12 weeks, and I provide written feedback, plus there’s a 30-minute phone/online chat each week to talk everything through. For picture book texts, feedback on a maximum of three texts per week are included.
Manuscript critiques are aimed at writers with a completed draft or substantial partial draft who need feedback on structure, characterisation and advice on overall polishing, plus suggestions on next steps. Past clients include Hannah Gold, Emma Finlayson-Palmer and CL Miller, among others.
