verse is a queer-led creative writing group from award-winning poet and playwright Toby Campion. Each weekly workshop is designed to improve your writing craft, nourish your creativity, spark inspiration and build your writing community.
For beginners to experienced writers looking to re-invigorate their practice, workshops often use poetry as a springboard but your writing may be of any genre. Open to all who respect LGBTQ+ spaces, allies very welcome.
During this 7-week course you will:
• take part in 7 stimulating workshops to improve your technique and generate new work
(previous themes include: taking risk, honing your voice, telling lies, queering the image, editing)
• attend a live-literature event in London with your cohort (in person courses only)
• receive advice and feedback on your work
• discover a wide range of exciting queer authors
• create new pieces of writing each week
• meet new people
• nourish your creativity and overcome writer's block
