Poetics of the Haunted with Charlotte Shevchenko Knight
Thu 25 Sep 2025 to Thu 25 Sep 2025
Who are your daily ghosts? What thoughts go unsaid, shivering in the background, absent presences? Do they belong in poetry? In this generative workshop we will explore the creative possibilities to be found in the haunted, with a focus on the role of silences and memory in poetry.

Drawing on poets like Anne Carson, Denise Riley, Emily Berry, and Jay Bernard, who continually reconcile the past with the present in their interrogative practices, we’ll practise writing where our ghosts, these things that haunt us, may find a place to live.

No prior writing experience is required, only an openness to welcoming your ghosts.
