Poetry School: Poetry that Burns Through the Page with Rebecca Levi
Wed 1 Feb 2023 to Wed 29 Mar 2023
Spark new ideas and develop the tools to transform your poetry into works of art.

In this course, without ever forgetting the music of verse, we’ll play with the visual, tactile aspects of our poems. Drawing inspiration and techniques from mediums such as painting, sculpture, collage, design, and photography, we’ll write together, play games, and workshop. The poems that emerge may sometimes be ekphrastic but will always be, in and of themselves, works of visual art.

The course’s goals are twofold: first, to spark new ideas and develop tools to polish them; and second, to build a focused, joyful, and supportive poetic community.

All levels are welcome, from experienced poets who want to find new pathways in their work, to those who are venturing for the first time into poetry.

Rebecca Levi is a poet, musician, and educator based in Chile. She has been an educator for fifteen years, with a focus in youth orchestra, early childhood music, and creative writing, and her teaching has taken her around the world, from Peru to Venezuela to India. Rebecca teaches in English, Spanish, and Italian.
