Poetry Slam: We Are Poets vs Word Life

Some of the UK's most established poets will be performing their work alongside local poets to give you a taste of one the fastest growing new artforms in the UK
Following the screening of We Are Poets, Leed Young Authors will be collaborating with local spoken word night, Word Life, which is part of the programme at Theatre In The Mill. Some of the UK's most established poets will be taking part in the Poetry slam performing their work alongside local poets to give you a taste of one the fastest growing new artforms in the UK.
Winner of The Sheffield Youth Jury Award at Sheffield Doc/Fest 2011, We Are Poets is a documentary that follows Slam Poetry collective Leeds Young Authors as they compete in the most prestigious performance poetry contest in the USA.
Word Life's events have been described as "fantastically entertaining" by the Yorkshire Post and "one of the purveyors of the new literary night out" by The Independent. Word Life will be represented by Kayo Chingonyi and Monkey Poet aka Matt Panesh.
