Rebecca Swift Foundation: Open Mic & Practical Chat: Money, money, money
Sun 22 Jun 2025 to Sun 22 Jun 2025
How do you make money as a professional poet? The Rebecca Swift Foundation will be discussing the topic in their Open Mic and Practical Chat on June 22. Sign up to read in the open mic or come and enjoy a good chat with other women poets!

For many of us, writing poetry is more about creative expression and connection with our readers/audience than making money. But... what if your dream is to make a sustainable living as a poet? Maybe you already are! Although a poet who makes their living exclusively from poetry is a very rare beast, being a professional poet is a lot more common.

During the practical chat we'll discuss some of the ways to build and sustain a career as a poet - from 'day jobs' to gigging, from workshops to newsletters. Come and join the conversation.

We welcome all women poets (aged 18+) at any stage of their career.

As usual, we'll begin with our regular open mic – showcasing poems from our brilliant network of women poets – before diving in to our practical chat.

Date: Sunday 22 June 2025, 11:00 AM - 12:30 PM BST
Location: Online, Zoom
Cost: £2 / Free for Women Poets' Network members
