Royal Society of Literature: Dalloway Day 2023
Wed 14 Jun 2023 to Wed 14 Jun 2023
Join us on Wednesday 14 June 2023 for a literary extravaganza! We are celebrating Virginia Woolf by breathing new life into her works through adaptations, writing workshops, and new commissions. What does it mean to reimagine ourselves, our work, and that of others? Where might that take us?

The festival offers a full day of events, including a range of both free and paid ticketed online discussions and workshops, as well as exclusive conversations with some of the most talented writers and speakers in the industry.

This year's headliner is Zadie Smith who will be joined in conversation by Shahidha Bari to explore the life and work of Virginia Woolf.

Here are a few of the other highlights;

A Write & Shine writing workshop inspired by Virginia Woolf - hosted by Gemma Seltzer.

A special recorded event from the British Library released exclusively for the occasion. Join Margo Jefferson and Virginia Nicholson for reflections on Virginia Woolf's diaries.

In an immersive workshop for young people with Helen Bowell, we will be looking at ideas of selfhood, gender and identity through Virginia Woolf’s groundbreaking novels Orlando (which claims to be a biography) and Mrs. Dalloway.

Playwrights Neil Bartlett and Sarah Ruhl come together to discuss their adaptations of Orlando, in a free online event.
