RS Thomas & ME Eldridge Poetry & Art Festival

This annual Poetry and Art Festival celebrates RS Thomas & ME Eldridge in the Welsh seaside town of Aberdaron where he was vicar and she an artist. The 2018 Festival’s theme is “Inspired by Others” and will take place between 28 June to 1 July.
Highlights of the 2018 festival programme include:

“The Poetic Astronaut of God-Space”
Daniel K Westover, Tennessee. Author of RS Thomas A Stylistic Biography

“Ah Iago, my friend”
Glyn Edwards, North Wales, gives voices to muted members of literature

“A strange feeling: Face to Face with Botticelli”
John McEllhenney, Pennsylvania, the story of Elsi Eldridge’s trip to Italy in 1934

“Chameleon Poet”
Sam Perry, Hull University. The poets that inspired the poet

“RS Thomas for a new Generation” at Bangor Cathedral
World premiere of Ellen Davies’ orchestral work “Pilgrimages” performed by Ensemble Cymru with Anne Denholm the Royal Harpist
