Small Group Poetry Workshops in Brighton

Poet Jackie Wills is running three small group poetry workshops in Brighton for just six people starting on September 30.Limiting numbers will allow more time to read back work and for discussion

Each workshop will combine reading poems by contemporary writers with a number of writing exercises to generate new work.

The workshops will take place in Brighton 11 am - 4 pm on Saturday September 30, Saturday October 14, Saturday October 28, 2017. Participants can sign up for all three, or for individual dates.

Each workshop will cost £40, payable in advance (no refunds for cancellations seven days or less before workshop).

Deadline for booking all workshops is September 22. They will only run if there are six people booked in for each date - confirmation on September 23.

Jackie is also available for one to one mentoring at the cost of £50 - this covers submitting six poems in advance, written feedback on the poems and a reading list, plus a one hour meeting.

About Jackie Wills: She has earned her living as a writer and editor since 1978, has been a literature assessor for Arts Council England, a Royal Literary Fund Fellow and Lector. She is an Associate Lecturer in Creative Writing for the Open University. Wills has published five collections of poetry as well as non-fiction, including The Workshop Handbook for Writers (Arc, 2016). Her most recent collection of poetry is Woman's Head as Jug (Arc, 2013). She was one of the organisers of the Brighton Poemathon in 2016 which raised £30,000 for the Refugee Council.
