Spread the Word: Launch of Summer 2021 programme
Thu 1 Apr 2021 to Wed 30 Jun 2021
Our summer 2021 season of events for writers running from April to June has launched! As always, there are lots of great events in the mix.

We're part of a fantastic partnership for SelfMadeHero's Graphic Anthology Programme (GAP), offering a career-changing development programme for budding comic-book artists.

We're open for applications for feedback from One More Chapter, a division of HarperCollins UK, and Young People's Laureate Cecilia Knapp continues to offer positivity and connection for young people through her campaign #WriteThroughThis.

Merrie Joy Williams, who explored Woolwich High Street as part of Historic England's High Street Tales project supported by Spread the Word, has her story 'In Between Days' published in the project's free ebook and available to listen to on the podcast.

Write Together is back, with a focus on nature writing, and will be led by the brilliant Jessica J. Lee. We also have a life writing masterclass with Colin Grant, three Developing Tutors workshop with Marta Bausells, Davina Tijani and Helen Bowell, and Maame Blue is running an online course on writing about relationships. Sharlene Teo will explore writing speculative historical fiction, and Emma Grundy Haigh will guide you through how to work through and avoid plot holes in your work.

Our London Writers Network event with Scribe UK publishers is all about getting into creative nonfiction. Our ever popular 121 surgeries with Eva Lewin are back too.

We continue to keep our programme accessible to writers by offering free and low-cost opportunities alongside bursary places as part of our create-write-connect campaign.
