Swanwick The Writers' Summer School 2025

Booking is open for this year's The Writers' Summer School taking place in Swanwick in Derbyshire from 9 to 14 August. There are four specialist (long) courses for 2025 plus short courses, workshops, 1:1 sessions and evening entertainment.

Specialist Courses for 2025:
Anne Hamilton - A Novel in Four Sessions
Della Galton - Writing Short Stories to Make Money
Simon Whaley - The Crafty Art of Creative Non-Fiction
Alison Chisholm - Poetry - Learning from the Laureates

Short courses:
We have 12 short courses over the week for 2025 covering popular subjects such as Crime, Scriptwriting, Self-Publishing, Research. Editing, Poetry Competitions, Performance Skills, LGBTQ+, Memoir, Erotic Short Stories, Romantic Fiction and Tapping into your Inner Creativity.

Workshops:
There are 16 one hour Workshops to choose from - subjects such as Writing for Competitions, Freelance Editing, Social Media, Poetry, Creative ideas, Wellbeing for writers, Comedy, Cosy Fantasy, AI for Authors, Flash Fiction, Drama, and more.

SUNDAY: Emma Purshouse & Steve Pottinger
MONDAY: Dr Russell Wate
