Join Alex Wharton for an hour-long digital workshop introducing the world of writing poetry for children.
Using examples from his own work, we will look at themes, voice, and stories that will engage and entertain young readers and introduce them to poetry from a young age.
You will leave the course with an idea, some tools, and inspiration to write your own poetry.
Time has been set aside to settle in at the beginning, to ask questions, and for discussions with your co-writers at the end.
Alex Wharton is a poet and workshop facilitator who is working towards publishing his first poetry book for children – Daydreams and Jellybeans with Firefly Press in 2021. His work has been published by Wales Haiku Journal, Hedgerow and children’s poetry and art magazine, The Caterpillar.
