Ty Newydd : Spring Poetry Masterclass with Gillian Clarke & Carol Ann Duffy

Led by two former national laureates, this masterclass is aimed at committed poets aiming to further develop their writing. The week will feature a group workshop each morning to prompt the creation of new poems, and you will also enjoy and be inspired by two evening poetry readings during the week: one by the tutors, and the other by a visiting poet. Application process.
Free afternoons will allow you time to take walks and gain inspiration from Ty Newydd’s beautiful surroundings and to focus on your own writing. The course will end with the creation of an anthology featuring work created by the participants and tutors, and a celebratory evening of readings in the library.
This course will challenge and inspire writers looking to develop the shape, music, and imaginative possibilities of their poetry.
Applying for the Masterclass
14 poets will be selected for this Masterclass through an application process. The tutors will select the successful writers based on the quality, potential and freshness of the application and the poems submitted. In line with our equality and representation values, factors including background, under-represented characteristics, and geographical location may also be considered.
