The Boot Camp Writing School
Mon 9 May 2011 to Wed 31 Aug 2011
Short story writers are being invited to take advantage of a special offer at the online Boot Camp writing school, run by short story writer and novelist Alex Keegan.
As its name suggests the The Boot Camp school is direct, tough, honest and expects hard work in order to achieve genuine growth. But it is also a proven way to improve your craft, identify your voice and discover the truth about your writing and how you can develop it. Boot Camp is not about workshopping stories, but about improving the writer through regular submission (anonymously) of stories and flashes for critiquing by other members and through critiquing other writers’ work using a grid developed over many years by Alex Keegan.

New recruits can now try out Boot Camp for free for the first four weeks free (no critiquing grid) or pay £100 up front for membership to the end of August (includes access to critiquing grid).

Many former Boot Campers have gone on to great success. At the last count, Boot Campers have won 131 First Prizes while taking part in the school and many more after they have left. Boot Campers and ex-Boot Campers have published (or are about to publish) 20 Novels and seven short-story collections. Six Boot Campers have become editors of journals. At least have earned MA with Distinction in Creative Writing.
