‘The Inner Story’ - a masterclass with Cathy Galvin
Sat 15 Feb 2020 to Sat 15 Feb 2020
'The Inner Story’ is a life writing workshop aimed at those who take writing seriously and will be sure to spark the imagination and help hone your craft.

The spaces between memoir, life-writing, poetry and creative non-fiction have never been more blurred or exciting. They offer us a chance to create narratives from real life in a range of innovative ways.

This class offers new perspectives to inspire your work and thinking aimed at looking inwards: what do you want to say? How do you want to say it? It aims to increase your confidence in stepping beyond what can sometimes appear to be the accepted publishing rules.

Come with your current work at your side or a blank notebook. There will be exercises, conversation and analysis aimed at broadening the potential of your writing and imagination.

Walking the Coventry Ring Road with Lady Godiva is Cathy Galvin’s third sequence of poetry. Her poetry has appeared in anthologies and journals including Agenda, Visual Verse, Morning Star and New Walk.. She is currently completing a collection and poetry practice PhD at Goldsmiths, University of London. She is also a journalist and editor, founder of the Sunday Times short story award and of the short story organisation, Word Factory.
