The Open University/Institute of English Studies: Seminars on Creative Writing and Neurodivergence

Facilitated by Contemporary Cultures of Writing at The Open University and the Institute of English Studies, this series of three free online seminars explores different aspects of Creative Writing and Neurodivergence. The second seminar is on Tuesday 25th February at 16:00 - 17:00 GMT. The seminars are free, but booking is essential.

This seminar series looks at the ways in which neurodivergence intersects with creative writing, providing an opportunity for researchers, practitioners, and teachers to explore linkages, disconnects and synergies between creative writing and neurodivergence in its many forms.

Facilitated by the Contemporary Cultures of Writing Open University Research Group, the seminar series features conversations with practitioners and academics about different aspects of creative writing regarding neurodivergence, including writing, teaching, and publication. The objectives of the seminars are to generate discussion and encourage connection amongst those with curiosity about, insight into, or experience of creative writing and neurodivergence.

The seminars are hold online via Zoom at 16:00 - 17:00 on 18 February, 25 February and 4 March 2025.
