Waaaaaaaaa! It’s that time of year when we forget how freakin’ intense our one day intensives are and book one in all like yeah that’ll be fun! We won’t need a week to recover after! Woo!

They say everyone has a novel inside them but how do you extract it without painful, invasive surgery? Via a super-intensive day of taught exercises, group work, silly games, cake eating and possibly some drinking, we’ll offer a practical, working understanding of constructing a story from the ground up.
You’ll start the day full of enthusiasm and leave with a spinning head, a pain behind the eyes and fully equipped to write a comprehensive, chapter by chapter outline of your story.
We’ll go through creating memorable characters and giving them a plot arc, how to make sure all your guys interact nicely throughout and come out the other end smelling of roses (or not). We’ll look at classic story structures and how to apply the traditions of thousands of years of storytelling to your plot. We’ll look at crisis points, plot points, thresholds and more. But most importantly, we’ll look at step-by-step ways to go from ‘ooh an idea’ to ‘aha, a comprehensive plot outline I can use to write my first draft.’ Splendiferous.
