The Well Review: In the Bleak Midwinter: Poetry Masterclass (Distance learning)

This 12-week distance learning poetry course will offer reading extracts, fortnightly 20-minute podcasts, and 1:1 feedback on six poetry assignments. This is a hybrid poetry course that will address aspects of winter alongside parts of the human body.

The topics are branched under the following themes:

Falling & Rising (Lungs)
Darkness & Light (Stomach)
Movement & Silence (Mouth)
Sleep & Wakefulness (Eyes)
Separation & Union (Legs)
Introspection & Extrospection (Brain)

Sarah Byrne, editor of The Well Review, will lead this course. Sarah has taught creative writing in universities, prisons, hospitals, and schools, as well as at literary festivals in Ireland and in the UK. She regularly teaches with The Poetry School and mentors writers 1:1.

This course is limited to 15 participants and begins on November 5th 2020.
