The Writers Workshop: Protest Poetry with Tom Juniper
Thu 6 Jul 2023 to Thu 6 Jul 2023
Poetry has been used as a form of protest for centuries, from scathing broadsides printed in newspapers to call and response chants yelled in the streets. If you have a cause you believe in, a good poem can be a great way to reach more people as well as giving vent to your feelings.

In this workshop, we'll explore the history of protest poems and have a go at writing our own chants, ways to tell untold stories and slam poems on causes close to our hearts.

About me: I am Tom Juniper, a spoken word performer and educator. I often write poetry about the experience of being queer, autistic and trans and about the injustices I see in the world.
