'Use Distractions': A Free Poetry School Instagram Live Workshop with Kareem Parkins-Brown
Sat 26 Sep 2020 to Sat 26 Sep 2020
Distractions creep into our lives as a result of many things. The internet is great but it also means we are distracted by the very things that should help us write (Twitter, anyone?). Join Roundhouse 2019 Slam winner and Barbican Young Poet alumnus Kareem Parkins-Brown for a free live workshop this Saturday, 26th September.

We’ll look at poets today who use internet tools to make truly memorable work, and poets before the internet who still used distractions better than we do with less to be distracted about (the chair is just a table making fun of itself), some prose poetry (yay? boo?), and other forms of poetry (yay!). We'll learn that starting where we never meant to leads the writer to better discoveries.
