Now in its seventh year, VERVE Poetry and Spoken Word Festival is BACK! Thursday 22nd - Saturday 25th February 2024. Both online and in-person at Birmingham Hippodrome Theatre.
Known for its vibrant and diverse programming, VERVE offers a dynamic mix of raucous performance poetry, exclusive readings, inspiring workshops, live anthology renditions, and a pop-up poetry bookshop. This year's highlights include:
• A prestigious eco-poetry workshop series.
• The Fifth Poetry Performance Lecture with Forward Prize winner Holly Pester,
• Captivating discussions and readings by celebrated contemporary poets such as Nicole Sealey, Séan Hewitt, Jason Allen-Paisant, Helen Mort and Daljit Nagra,
• A cinematic experience with the Poetry Film Night and,
• Stage discussions with poets from "Where Else: An International Hong Kong Poetry Anthology" and "Out of Time: Poetry from the Climate Emergency."
