Wild Atlantic Writers: Paris Writing Retreat
Mon 9 Oct 2023 to Sun 15 Oct 2023
Join us in Paris! Follow – literally - in the footsteps of such legends as James Joyce, Ernest Hemingway, F. Scott Fitzgerald, Sylvia Beach, Gertrude Stein, George Orwell, Oscar Wilde, even Dan Brown across the boulevards of Paris while learning the art of creative writing through practical workshops and author meetings.
Our Paris writing retreat takes place during October 9th to 15th, 2023.
Adopting ‘Six Senses’ as the theme for this week, including the spectacular sights of the city, uplifting smells from both the city’s famous cuisine and its world renown perfumes and sound as in the soft musicality of the French language, we have decided to rebrand Paris as ‘Sensorial City.’
Highlights of the week for participants will include the following:
Three complimentary lunches in historic restaurants associated with some of the most famous writers to have lived in Paris such as Ernest Hemingway, Victor Hugo, George Orwell, Albert Camus, F. Scott Fitzgerald, James Joyce, Simone de Beauvoir, Jean Paul Sartre etc.
A special guided literary-cum-historic walking tour of Paris.
A surprise Parisian experience.
A dinner in a historic restaurant.
Lunch with fresh baguette, French wines and an assortment of artisan meats and cheeses, topped off with some of the most delicious of patisserie.
Aside from daily writing workshops and critiques of retreat assignments in Paris, participants will also be given the opportunity to avail of focused critique and discussion session on one of their works-in-progress.
