One writer, one story. The final in-depth masterclass in our four-month series on the short story form. Join award-winning author Sophie Haydock for a unique masterclass, diving deep into A.S. Byatt’s Medusa’s Ankles from her collection, The Matisse Stories (Vintage). The story will be sent to all attendees in advance.
Sophie will lead an exploration of Byatt’s compelling narrative, blending literary analysis with insights from her own research into Henri Matisse and the women who inspired his work - the heart of her new novel, Madame Matisse. Together, we’ll reflect on how art and the lives of great artists have permeated fiction through the ages, influencing stories both past and present. Come ready to read, reflect, and be inspired!
Over an hour and a half there will be time for questions and a few exercises.
