Writers Online: Writing Folk Horror with Alex Davis
Tue 9 Jan 2024 to Tue 9 Jan 2024
Folk horror is undergoing a strong resurgence, with tales of witches, rituals and the old ways back in vogue. But how do you go about writing in this popular form?

Acclaimed writing lecturer and tutor Alex Davis will be exploring the definition of the form, some of its most famous examples and some of the key aspects of great stories of folk horror, including a closing writing exercise to create your own tale of terror in the fields…

Alex Davis is a writer, creative writing lecturer and workshopper specialising in horror, particularly ghost stories and folk horror. He is the co-ordinator of the UK Ghost Story Festival and the popular Winter Haunts event, as well as the Darkness in the Fields series. He is a regular contributor to Writing Magazine with his monthly articles for Fantastic Realms.
