Literary Kitchen is offering four spaces on a Pay-What-You-Can basis for its new term of Writers Workout, a 10-week short course, suitable for writers at all levels, who want to write within a structured, supportive environment. Runs on Tuesdays at 7-9pm from February to April 2026.
Within the sessions you will write and workshop micro fictions, flash fictions, and two 2,000-word short stories. You will work from shared prompts, and undertake feedback in pairs, small groups and to the whole group, in a studio/workshop environment.
We will work towards live submission deadlines and criteria, such as the Liars’ League fiction event, and you will be encouraged to submit your material to competitions and creative writing publications.
This course is exciting, fun, and a great place to develop your critical skills as well as your writing skills. By the end of the course you will have a portfolio of pieces and will have developed a writing habit.
Students who feel ready to work on longer pieces may then choose to graduate onto Writers Workshop.
Dates: Tuesdays at 7-9pm, 3 February - 14 April 2026 (not 10 March) NB. Due to the timings of this e-bulletin, you would be joining the course in week 2.
