Have you always wanted to write for children but didn't know where to start? Or maybe you simply need a boost on your writing journey? WriteMentor weekend workshops have everything you need! Early Bird discount until the end of July 2019.
Our writing for children weekend will guide you through writing convincing characters, dialogue that moves the story along, identifying plot holes in your story structure; and how to self-edit. There will be two one-hour workshops on each day followed by free writing time and then a work share.
The free writing time will also allow those who just wish to get on with their manuscript that quiet, focused time to do so, with the workshop leader on hand, if you have any problems/questions that they may be able to help with. Similarly, you can use that time to work on something based on the content of the workshop. There is also no obligation to share your work with the group.
Tita Berreo is an experienced picture book writer and illustrator with an MA in Children's Illustration from Goldsmiths University.
Maisie Chan writes middle grade (for 8-12 year olds) and teen novels (and also dabbles in writing picture books). She has taught creative writing at Arvon and for Writing West Midlands and is a mentor.
Dates: Saturday 11 and Sunday 12 January 2020, 9-5
Location: The Mercure, Ingram Street, Glasgow
Early Bird Discount - 10% off if you book in July 2019. There are flexible payment plans and options to attend part or all of the weekend.
