Writing School East Midlands: Developing Your Voice with Sabrina Smith (online)
Thu 7 Jan 2021 to Thu 11 Feb 2021
Explore the ways in which you might use memory, experience and imagination together with observations and language to develop your voice and stylistic control.
Develop your writing style through a selection of bespoke exercises designed to unlock your raw material. Write about yourself and others with insight and clarity. Use scenes, immediacy and dialogue to tell your tale. Begin to read as a writer and build your critical vocabulary as a writer.
Suitable for script, prose and poetry, this course will aim to develop your writing identity. Although we will be exploring memoir, portraits and other forms of non-fiction, we will also explore the ways in which you might bring the raw material of memory, observation, experience and an informed imagination together with the medium of language to produce poetry, fiction and essays.
