Join our online classroom and learn about writing long-form non-fiction, including features, profiles, travel, essays, reviews, memoir, personal memoir and in-depth interviews.
Led by seasoned journalist and writer Wersha Bharadwa, you’ll learn how to come up with ideas for various styles of longform journalism and narrative no-fiction pieces using facts. In a small and friendly group of up to 14 students, writer Wersha Bharadwa will share insider tips on writing features, essays, interviews and how to successfully and confidently pitch them to publications.
No prior writing experience or knowledge of long-form non-fiction writing is necessary.
An award-nominated writer for over 20 years, and with works featured in The Guardian, The Independent, Cosmopolitan (where she was the first British Indian staff writer for the magazine) and Glamour magazines, Wersha Bharadwa is an author, playwright and journalist. She also lectures in journalism at Birmingham City University.
Dates: Wednesdays at 7-9pm, Starting 9 June, then 16, 23 and 30 June and 7 July 2021
