Writing West Midlands: Public Funding for Creative Writers with Jonathan Davidson
With numbers strictly limited to eight, this two-session course will look at what types of writing projects might attract public and private funding and how to make a good application. It will focus on funding from Arts Council England through their Lottery Project Grants scheme and their Developing Your Creative Practice scheme.
The course will look at the qualities of a fundable project, making a case for funding, preparing a budget and how to complete key sections of applications forms.
There will be some tasks to be completed between the two sessions of the course.
This course is intended for writers at all stages of their careers, including beginners.
Previous participants said:
“In terms of helping me consider the possibilities for arts council funding for my creative practice and my artistic/writing projects this was possible the best money I’ve ever spent. The course leader’s knowledge and experience of these matters was very impressive and I also learnt from the other attendees.”
