Writing West Midlands: Spark Young Writers 2025-2026

Bookings are now open for the Spark Young Writers 2025-2026 programme offering young people aged 8-17 across West Midlands the opportunity to take part in a fun, creative writing group led by a professional writer either in person or online.
Most of our groups are in two sections: Junior aged young writers (school years 3-6, roughly equivalent to 7-11 years old) and Teenage writers (school years 7-13, roughly equivalent to 12-17 years old).
In 2025 – 2026 the cost for the year is £100 (£10 a session). Free places available.
We are offering two different types of groups:
In-person groups will start meeting in-person from September in 14 different locations across the region.
Online groups will meet online all year using Zoom.
Spark Young Writers groups meet monthly from September to June/July (10 sessions a year), for 2 hours on a Saturday.
