2019 Bedford International Short Story and Poetry Competitions
Deadline: Thu 31 Oct 2019
Entries of previously unpublished short stories of no more than 3000 words and poems of no more than 40 lines, written in English, are invited. Open to anyone in the world aged 17 years and over.

Short Story
First prize £500 Second prize £150 Third prize £100 / Bedford prize of £100, donated by the Harpur Trust, awarded to the best story written by a resident of Bedford. / Young Person's prize of £100, awarded to the best story written by an entrant aged thirty years or less on the date the competition opens for entries, 1st May 2019.

Entry fees
Standard £6 per story; three stories entered on the same form £12.
Full time students £4 per story; three stories entered on the same form £8.

Poetry
First prize £500 Second prize £150 Third prize £100 / Bedford prize of £100, donated by the Harpur Trust, awarded to the best poem written by a resident of Bedford.

Entry fees
Standard £6 per poem; three poems entered on the same form £12.
Full time students £4 per poem; three poems entered on the same form £8.

The shortlisted stories and poems and the Bedford Prize winning story and poem will be published in an anthology as a downloadable e-book.
