The 2020 Manchester Writing Competition is open to entries, offering £10,000 prizes for Poetry and Fiction. Designed to encourage and celebrate new writing across the globe, the Competition is open internationally to both new and established writers.
The Manchester Poetry Prize asks for a portfolio of three to five poems (maximum combined length: 120 lines).
The Manchester Fiction Prize is for a short story of up to 2,500 words. Submissions can be in any style and on any topic, but must be new work, not previously published elsewhere.
The Competition is organised by Manchester Metropolitan University and was created by Professor Carol Ann Duffy. Since its launch in 2008 it has awarded more than £195,000 to writers.
