The Academic Writing Advisor will manage and co-ordinate the University of Birmingham's Academic Writing Advisory Service
The Academic Writing Advisor will manage and co-ordinate the College of Arts and Law Academic Writing Advisory Service (CAL AWAS) which provides comprehensive academic writing support for undergraduate students (possibly leading to PGT support) in the College's six schools.
This will include the management and delivery of focused provision in the form of workshops and one-to-one student support and the development and promotion of sector-leading on-line resources. The Academic Writing Advisor will also manage a team of Study Skills Postgraduate Teaching Assistants (PGTAs) to deliver study skills development support activity in schools. The post holder will need to work closely with colleagues to respond to the specific needs of different areas of the College.
The Advisor will also be required to evaluate the success of AWAS and apply for funding to develop new activity as appropriate.
