With mentors including Thomas Harding, Adam Kammerling, Kate Worsley and Olivia Sudjic, the celebrated Genesis Emerging Writers’ Programme supports UK writers across fiction, non-fiction and poetry.
Since 2021, the programme has supported emerging writers across fiction, non-fiction and poetry, offering bursaries, mentoring, peer support and a showcase event at London’s longest-running literary festival, Jewish Book Week.
Open to emerging writers over 18 years of age and living in the UK, the programme has just announced a stellar line-up of mentors who will support the cohort of writers from September 2025 through to July 2026. The first wave of mentors for this year’s programme include the Wingate-Prize winning non-fiction author Thomas Harding, Times Book of the Month and award-winning novelist Kate Worsley, renowned poet and interdisciplinary artist Adam Kammerling, and celebrated fiction writer Olivia Sudjic.
The full list of renowned mentors will be confirmed in the coming weeks, with the cohort of writers announced by September. As well as mentorship, the ten selected emerging writers will receive bursaries of up to £1,500, peer support, industry exposure, and specialist seminars, before appearing at the 75th Jewish Book Week next March.
The Programme is generously supported by the Genesis Foundation and run by the Jewish Literary Foundation, and prides itself on its inclusivity, breadth, and range of support.
Welcoming applications from any writers with no more than three years’ experience of being published, it provides a platform for those who are either working, or planning to work, on a specific project with the aim of publication.
