ARIEL (Author in International Residence in Lorraine): Call for applications for 2022/23
Deadline: Thu 30 Dec 2021
Each year in the autumn semester, ARIEL sets up an international author residency program for a period of 4 months between the University of Lorraine and an international author. For its fourth edition, ARIEL is launching a call for applications from authors publishing in English. The residency takes place from 1 October 2022 to 31 January 2023.
The author receives 2000 euros in copyright each month and is accommodated free of charge in the center of Nancy . Their travel expenses and visa application within the framework of the residence are also covered.
The author will have to devote about a third of their time to the service of the residence by participating in various events around their work (writing workshops, readings, school visits etc.) The rest of their time will be dedicated to their personal creative work, as well as to the production of a short text ( short story, poem, essay) inspired by their stay in Lorraine.
Criteria for applying:
be an author published in their original language (German, English, Spanish, Italian, Russian or Arabic) and have already published a book with a publisher who has published more than 3 different authors . The book must have been printed with a circulation of at least 500 copies (at least 300 copies for poetic works) within the last 5 years.
having other proven artistic talents (music, theater, painting, etc.) is a plus but is by no means compulsory.
