Suffolk Libraries creative programme BLOC - Building Libraries on Creativity are inviting local artists to come and use Lowestoft Library as a work space to explore the role creativity plays as catalyst for nurturing confidence and wellbeing in the community.
Six artists working in any discipline (Music/ technology/ paint/ sculpture/ film/ writing/ poetry/ theatre/ sound recording/ installations, dance etc.) will be given the opportunity during this week-long residency to explore their practice freely as well as their roles as creative practitioners in the community.
We are looking for artists who are: Keen to create work which is rooted in the community. Have a proven commitment to their discipline, either through a portfolio of work or relevant course, qualifications or awards. Are living and/or working regularly in Suffolk (as defined by the Suffolk county boundaries).
Applicants must commit to the full week's residency, including some evenings.
Dates: Monday 21 – Friday 25 October 2019 at Lowestoft Library, Suffolk
Fee: £500 for the week (including lunch provided by Suffolk Libraries)
