Artist to create content for a creative writing installation, Rotherham Museums, Arts and Heritage
Deadline: Sun 23 Jan 2022
We are looking for a creative writing artist to create content and deliver a creative writing installation for UEFA Women's Euro 2022 (Rotherham). In July 2022, England will stage the UEFA Women’s EURO. Starting 6 July, the tournament will last 26 days, with four matches taking place in Rotherham.

As part of a cultural programme celebrating the UEFA Women’s Euros, we will develop a series of events and an exhibition to engage local residents, capturing stories, promoting active collecting and documenting heritage through pop-up roadshows and temporary exhibitions.

This brief focuses on the Heritage Programme funded by National Heritage Lottery Fund - it includes:

A touring exhibition taking the collection on the road to supermarkets, libraries, schools, and grass roots football venues. Focused on active collecting a pop-up museum to capture and document the stories of the women’s game through sharing of objects and stories.
A travelling merchandise maker station will accompany the touring exhibition. In return for objects and stories communities will create their own merchandise.
Creation of 2 Outdoor Exhibition Plaques
Temporary Exhibition (Clifton Park Museum) - a display of stories, histories, and anecdotes. Objects from the Rotherham Collection and the touring exhibition will sit alongside collection from the National Football Museum and a programme of events, documenting Rotherham’s time as Host City.

We are seeking to appoint a creative writing artist to work with the museum team to create content for the temporary exhibition.

The Creative Writing Consultant will:

Develop and deliver a creative writing installation in one of the temporary exhibition galleries that will collate content gathered through the touring programme.
Supporting the Museums team with the development of the content/creative commission and supporting activities.
Deliver engagement activities once the exhibition is open
This project will be delivered between February-June 2022.

Fee: £3,000 inclusive of all travel and expenses, exclusive VAT.
