Assistant Lecturer in Writing & Literature, IT (Institute of Technology), Sligo, Ireland

We are looking for an assistant lecturer to teach writing and literature subjects at undergraduate and postgraduate level. Applicants must, as a minimum, hold a 2.2 award classification in an Honours Degree at NFQ level 8 or equivalent and proven post-qualification experience.

Desirable Qualifications/Skills include:

a Masters (level 9) and/or PhD (level 10) in a related area and/or in teaching and learning
mid-career writers with published works to their credit who have received recognition for their achievements.
experience facilitating writing workshops and/or learning environments where feedback and critique are shared sensitively, helping students to acquire editing skills
experience with community engagement, such as teaching or mentoring writers, editing journals or collaborating on creative projects.
significant participation in national/international literary festivals and events
relevant training/teaching/lecturing experience in a third-level environment including online teaching.
experience of e-learning education management systems such as Moodle would be an advantage
experience of research in an industrial or academic environment
