Assistant Professor in Creative Writing, Durham University

The Department of English Studies at Durham University seeks to appoint an Assistant Professor (Grade 7 or 8) in Creative Writing. Applications are invited from candidates with proven ability or potential to teach in any genre or mode, although the post will carry particular teaching requirements in the area of prose fiction.

The successful candidate will be able to provide evidence of outstanding writing/research potential and/or achievement and will have the proven ability or potential to contribute positively to teaching (lectures, seminars, tutorials, and dissertation supervision) at all levels, including developing new modules in areas of specialist interest to complement existing options at undergraduate and MA level.

S/he will contribute to the development of Creative Writing at undergraduate and MA level and may also be expected to attract and supervise postgraduate research students at PhD level.

This is a full-time, permanent contract. Salary: £33,199 to £48,676 (Job Ref: ENGL19-56)
