Associate Dramaturg: Musical Theatre Writing Residency, Playwrights' Studio, Scotland

We are offering a paid opportunity as Associate Dramaturg, working as part of the Musical Theatre Writing Residency at Cove Park from the 26th February-17th March 2024.
The residency aims to provide a space for established and emerging creators in musical theatre to connect, collaborate and create new work in an immersive and inspiring environment.
The associate dramaturg will attend workshop and networking sessions with industry leaders as part of the residencies. They'll spend time attending the individual sessions where the musical theatre teams are developing their work, contributing dramaturgically to conversations as appropriate. In the week prior to the residency, they'll spend time at Playwrights’ Studio, Scotland preparing and becoming familiar with the projects. Support from experienced dramaturgs will be available throughout.
Total Fee of £1,400 (to include an additional two days of preparatory work the previous week). Travel allowances and accommodation provided for two weeks at Cove Park
This opportunity is for anyone with at least five years of experience in an established artistic practice and who has an interest in developing their musical theatre dramaturgical skills. You do not need to have any experience working directly as a dramaturg, though an interest in new work for performance is essential.
You should also be:
resident in Scotland or from Scotland and living elsewhere
available to participate in the entire residency (Monday 4th - Sunday 17th March 2024) and two days of preparation during the week commencing Monday 24th February.
The residency is presented by Cove Park and Dundee Rep Theatre in partnership with: Capital Theatres; Citizens Theatre; Macrobert Arts Centre; National Centre for the Performing Arts – Mumbai; National Theatre of Scotland; Octopus Theatricals – New York City; Royal Lyceum Theatre Edinburgh; and Traverse Theatre. Associate partners include A Play, A Pie and A Pint; Pitlochry Festival Theatre; Playwrights’ Studio Scotland; and Tron Theatre.
