To undertake teaching, assessment and administration associated with the delivery of postgraduate modules for the low-residency MA Nature and Travel Writing, and potentially other MA/BA courses in the school.
We are one of the leading Creative Writing departments in the UK with innovative teaching and assessment across all courses. We have a large undergraduate programme, which includes combinations with subjects such as Publishing and English Literature, five taught MA programmes and a successful PhD Creative Writing programme. Our MA in Nature and Travel Writing is highly regarded in the industry and has a successful track record in supporting students to become published authors.
We are looking for Associate Lecturers to join our MA Nature and Travel Writing team. The role focuses on learning and teaching, and programme delivery for this unique low-residency MA in which teaching is done face-to-face at week-long residential courses and online.
You will have a demonstrable track record in nature and/or travel writing, a clear understanding of the market, and of the contexts and history of these genres. You will also ideally have experience of teaching and learning in higher education or its equivalent.
As an AL you will make a key contribution to our highly successful MA programme in Nature and Travel Writing, and potentially to our other postgraduate and undergraduate Creative Writing courses.
Salary: £20.60 /hour for each hour of teaching you will be paid for an additional 1.5 hours of preparation and marking
