Upon the back of hugely successful StAnza 2022, which returned to St Andrews in hybrid format under the Directorship of Lucy Burnett, StAnza is seeking new members for our Board of Trustees.
These are exciting times at StAnza. This year’s event was the first in a much-lauded reframing of the festival as an ‘intervention’ in poetry, and the hybrid format enabled us to operate even more internationally than ever!
In order to support our ambitious plans for the years ahead, and upon the retirement of several of our existing Board, we are now seeking new trustees with an active interest in poetry, and with knowledge of the Scottish poetry scene within its broader UK and international contexts.
We are particularly keen to attract those with experience in and knowledge of the following:
• Financial management
• Audience development & commercial partnerships / opportunities
• Working with young people & schools
• Environmental and inclusivity issues in an arts context
• Digital arts.
We are also specifically seeking a new Secretary and a new Treasurer. StAnza is committed to inclusivity and to ensuring that the board is fully representative of the rich diversity of society: we welcome applications from those typically under-represented at management level including BIPOC communities, those with disabilities, and those who identify as LGBTQ+.
The Board meets 4/5 times a year, generally alternating between St Andrews and Edinburgh, although at present meeting by Zoom. It is currently chaired by Dr Robyn Marsack robyn.marsack@stanzapoetry.org who would welcome inquiries from those interested in joining the Board. (Marjorie Lotfi will become Chair from May 2022.)
